REMOVE_DISEASE is a research project on the conservation and restoration of degraded insular biodiversity.
It aims at exploring the impacts of the removal of introduced mammals on the dynamics of infectious diseases in seabirds across islands of the Southern Ocean.
The project officially ran from April 1st 2022 until December 31st 2025. Given the importance of the topic, we aim at continuing its development beyond the support we had from the BiodivRestore call.

In the current context of global change, many seabird populations are threatened.
Infectious diseases and introduced species can interact to increase threats to seabirds on islands.
Understanding those interactions is important for the conservation and restoration of degraded insular biodiversity.

The project is funded following the BiodivRestore call of Biodiversa and Water JPI. The selected projects are presented on Biodiversa+ web site.
